BLOCK x BLOG FESTlVAL feat. Holy Ghost!, Jacuzzi Boys, and More!
BLOCK X BLOG FESTIVAL
Subculture and 3J Hospitality are launching Block x Blog (pronounced Block by Blog), a music and arts festival nostalgic for the days spent in the record store and arcade. On Saturday, April 20th, Block x Blog will bring a lineup of national and local musicians, DJs, curated art galleries, and pop-up shops of local businesses and vendors within America’s Backyard, Green Room Nightclub, and Revolution Live located in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Block x Blog kicks off at 6PM in America’s Backyard, where all ages can catch performances by Black Locust Society and other local rappers and DJs for free. The venue will also host goods for sale by The Fine Print Shoppe, Iron Forge Press, and other local vendors.
From 10PM to 4AM, Radio-Active Records, Limited Fanfare Records, South Florida Music Obsessed, and New Times will welcome festival goers 18 and over into Green Room Nightclub to celebrate national Record Store Day with local favorites Jacuzzi Boys, Suede Dudes, Shroud Eater, and many more. At the same time, Subculture, 3J Hospitality, and Chicago-based music site Consequence of Sound bring performers Holy Ghost!, Afrobeta, AbdeCaf, Millionyoung, and many more to the Revolution Live stage until 4AM.
Subculture’s founder and CEO Phillip Roffman believes Block x Blog challenges the traditional construction of popular music and arts festivals. Instead of soliciting corporations, Subculture and 3J Hospitality partnered with local and independent businesses and organizations. “We wanted to show Fort Lauderdale and all of South Florida what can be done when pinnacle influences come together,” says Roffman. Block x Blog will not only be one of few festivals in found Fort Lauderdale, but one that promotes and supports the community around it.
Tickets for Block x Blog are $25 and permit entry of 18 and older into Green Room Nightclub and Revolution Live. Purchase online at www.jointherevolution.net or at Revolution Live’s box office at 100 SW 3rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312.
