SALMO – BIO 2025

Eclectic, eccentric, provocative, SALMO – 7 studio albums and 3 live albums, and a palmarès of 76 Platinum Certifications and 50 Gold Certifications – is the first rapper to perform as a solo artist at the iconic San Siro Stadium in Milan on July 6th, 2022.

Multi-faceted artist, Salmo constantly escapes from labels. Ace live performer, he extraordinarily mixes energy and creativity, always guaranteeing new, innovative and highly-detailed shows.

After changing the rules of the game, Salmo is back on the scene with his brand new album, “Ranch“, to be released under Columbia Records/Sony Music Italy on May 9th. A record that can be considered a journey among different influences and styles, focused on intuitions that inspired him throuhg the years, “Ranch” – very far from the classic western image – recalls something deeply intimate and authentic: a haven on the hills, in the heart of Sardinia, where Salmo chose to isolate himself lately to stay away from the spotlight and the social algorithms, and to look inside himself and reconnect with his own essence.

A comeback marked by a new aesthetic, one feat only and 16 songs that create a fundamental tracklist, music-centered, fully authentic.

Always looking at the future, he keeps raising the bar also through his live shows, particularly with his SALMO WORLD TOUR 2025 – a new tournèe scheduled in the fall that will bring Salmo and his music (including his new album “Ranch“, in addition to his biggest hits) to the most iconic venues in Italy and also in Europe and in the USA: an unmissable chance to enjoy Salmo’s performances to the fullest.

Salmo takes the first steps into the music business at the end of the 90s, releasing several demos and doing some collabs with the rap metal band Skasico. 2011 marks the turning point with the release of his first studio album,  The Island Chainsaw Massacre, followed by Death USB (2012) and Midnite (2013), Double Platinum certified album that reaches the top of the Italian album chart and turns him into one of the most relevant artists of the rap scene.

In 2014 he co-found the collective Machete Crew and releases Machete Mixtape, a series of musical projects that contribute to redefine the Italia rap scene and to launch new talents. Particularly Machete Mixtape vol. 4 (2019) proves to be a huge success: 4 times Platinum certified, the album debuts at the top of the FIMI album charts and breaks several records. Including hugely relevant local collabs such as Fabri Fibra, Marracash, Guè as well as newcomers such as thasup, Lazza and Massimo Pericolo, the mixtape created a bridge among different generations, certifying Machete as one of the most influential realities of the local urban scene at that time.

In 2016 Salmo releases Hellvisback, certified Triple Platinum, while in 2018 he releases Playlist, a hugely successful album that conquers the album sales chart in Italy with record sale numbers, gaining 7 Platinum certifications. After breaking any imaginable record on Spotify, Salmo also becomes the first Italian artist to exclusively launch on Netflix a videoclip and a dedicated channel on Pornhub, where – thanks to an out-of-the-box marketing strategy – he presented his new album, including hits such as 90min, Il cielo nella stanza e Cabriolet. In support of the record, the Playlist Tour  – that fully goes sold out, with more than 220.000 people attending –  and the Playlist World Tour are announced.

In 2021 he releases the album FLOP (3 Platinum certified) and the videoclip for the song ALDO RITMO receives a nomination at the Berlin Music Video Awards 2022 in the Best Animation Video. Category. In May 2022 the album Blocco 181 – ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK comes out and sees Salmo as its artistic director.

Among the most energetic performers in Italy, Salmo has always stood out thanks to his powerful and impactful presence on stage and for his unforgettable shows. On July 6th, 2022, he makes history becoming the first rapper to perform as a solo artist at the iconic San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. This unique show is just a taste of his Flop Tour, which inlcuded  multiple sold out shows in Italy at the end of 2022.

In 2023, Salmo collaborates with Noyz Narcos on the CVLT album – certified Double Platinum and highly praised by the critics and  the audience – that includes songs going from hardcore rap to electronic sounds.

Every videoclip is a short film on its own, inspired by cult movies and iconic directors: he goes from a western-flavored Don Medellín video, recalling Tarantino’s and John Ford’ style, to the very explicite quote of From Dusk Till Dawn in the 1984 video, showing his powerful and very recognizable visual imaginary.
