ISSUES – Headspace Tour w/ Volumes, Too Close to Touch & Sylar

Issues ft. lauderdale

Issues are an Atlanta, Georgia metalcore band formed in 2012 and was quickly

signed to Rise Records imprint Velocity just a few months after formation. Issues'

first EP, Black Diamonds, arrived at the tail end of 2012. A genre-blurring mix of

metalcore, R&B-tinged pop, and Linkin Park-esque nu-metal DJ breaks, their self-

titled first album Issues debuted in the Top Ten of the Billboard 100. An acoustic

EP, Diamond Dreams, was released later that year, featuring their 2013 stand-alone

single, "Hooligans." Issues returned to the studio to record their sophomore LP,

Headspace, which they are touring in support of.

Andy Mineo

Andy Mineo

New York native Andy Mineo is a hip hop recording artist known for his reflective lyricism. His

sophomore album, Uncomfortable, became the No. 1 Independent record in the country and delivered a

No. 3 and No.10 position on Billboard’s Hip Hop and Top 200 album charts, respectively. Mineo

headlined the Uncomfortable Tour, a 52-city tour which sold out legendary venues across America and in

Europe. He has appeared on Sirius XM’s Sway In The Morning, MTV, and his colossal hit “You Can’t

Stop Me” won an ESPN Whammy Award for MLB’s Top Walk Up Song. Andy Mineo carries his music

beyond through scripting, producing and directing many of his own music videos. He also created a 3-

season webseries on YouTube called “Saturday Morning Car-Tunez” which garnered over 1M views

and gave fans a glimpse into his creative process and personal life. Beyond the critical adulation, he is a

born communicator with comedic timing who has become a social media juggernaut with an audience of

over 1.3M and growing.

The Marcus Kind Band with special guest Bobby Lee Rdogers

Marcus King Band

Songwriter. Guitarist. Singer. Bandleader. At only 20 years of age, Marcus King’s dazzling musical

ability is evident throughout The Marcus King Band. Operating within the fiery brand of American

roots music that King calls "soul-influenced psychedelic southern rock," it highlights King’s gorgeous,

rough-hewn vocals, soaring guitar work and heartfelt songwriting all amidst a group of masterful

musicians who, together, are quickly becoming one of the country’s most sought after live acts. Raised in

Greenville, South Carolina, King was brought up on the blues, playing shows as a pre-teen sideman with

his father. Going beyond the sonic textures of his acclaimed 2015 debut; The Marcus King Band

broadens his sound, touching upon everything from funky R&B to Southern soul and Americana in the

process. His band gets in on the action too, stacking the songs with blasts of swampy brass, a lock-step

rhythm section and swirling organ. Ever the multi-tasker, King bounces between several instruments,

handling electric and acoustic guitar — as well as pedal and lap steel — while driving each track home

with his soulful, incendiary voice.

Social Distortion

Social Distortion has stayed strong for three decades on their own terms, on their own time, by

their own rules, and over that time their influence has only grown. Each of their albums has been

stronger than their last. They’ve been brought onstage by Bruce Springsteen, because he wanted

to play one of their songs. They’ve seen high times and low ones, good days and tragic days, but

every night they give 100%, and every morning they wake up still swinging. This is the short

version of the Social Distortion bio — the long version could be a 10-part mini-series. But over

the past 30 years, the punk godfathers in the band have all but trademarked their sound, a brand of

hard rockabilly/punk that’s cut with the melodic, road-tested lyrics of frontman Mike Ness. Their

searing guitars and a locomotive rhythm section sound as alive today as they did in ’82, as do

Ness’ hard-luck tales of love, loss and lessons learned. Social Distortion is a mix of potent

power, appeal across all age brackets and a genuine satisfaction at reaching as many people as

they have. “I write songs for myself, and I hope that other people will like them too,” Ness says.

“I think every record you make is showing people what you’ve learned over the past few years.

It’s showing people, ‘This is what I know.'” Now in their fourth decade, Ness and Social

Distortion have officially done one of the most non-punk things possible: They’ve failed to burn

out. And that is good news for their fans!

The Magpie Salute

The Magpie Salute is an exciting new band that features musicians who have played together for decades throughout various projects and share a musical bond. The band brings Rich Robinson, the guitarist and co-founding member of The Black Crowes, together with two key members of Crowes fame – guitarist Marc Ford and bassist Sven Pipien – alongside drummer Joe Magistro and guitarist Nico Bereciartua. The Magpie Salute marks the reunion of the Robinson and Ford guitar team which ended back in 1997 when Ford left The Black Crowes. The band also boasts a fine cast of vocalists, including lead singer John Hogg (Hookah Brown, Moke), former Crowes singer Charity White and background singers, Adrien Reju and Katrine Ottosen. The term “Magpie Salute” references a British superstition about the imperative to salute a Magpie anytime you see one in order to ward off negativity, or to have a good day. Clearly, The Magpie Salute intends to mix it up, breathing new life into musical bonds, rooted in tradition and the universal language of Rock and Roll.

The Damned 40th Anniversary Tour

THE DAMNED

NORTH AMERICAN TOUR BEGINS APRIL 6TH IN LOS ANGELES
WITH SUPPORT ACTS ALICE BAG & THE SISSY BEARS (4/6)
BLEACHED (4/7 – 4/28) & THE BELLRAYS 4/29 – 5/21)

BMG CELEBRATE BAND’S 40th ANNIVERSARY BY RELEASING A VERY SPECIAL REMASTERED VINYL, CD & DIGITAL DELUXE EDITION OF THEIR CLASSIC DEBUT, ‘DAMNED DAMNED DAMNED’ – THE VERY FIRST BRITISH PUNK ALBUM

The Damned blazed a trail when they became the very first British punk band to release a single, the mighty “New Rose,” on October 22nd 1976, which was swiftly followed by the release of the very first British punk album, their classic debut long-player ‘Damned Damned Damned,’ originally released by a nascent Stiff Records on February 18th 1977. Now, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band’s dramatic breakthrough, BMG will release a very special Art Of The Album deluxe edition of that incredible debut album on February 17th, almost exactly 40 years to the day since its original issue.

Formed in 1976, The Damned really need no introduction… As well as releasing the first ever British punk single and album, they also broke further new ground as the first UK punk act to tour America. The Damned still receive their dues in the US, where they are often cited as a major influence on many future rock acts, including bastions of the nascent US hardcore scene such as Black Flag and Bad Brains plus heavy metal heavyweights such as Green Day, The Offspring and Guns ’N’ Roses (the LA rockers acknowledged the debt when they covered “New Rose” on their 1993 album ‘The Spaghetti Incident’).

In the recording studio (Pathway Studios) alongside producer Nick Lowe in late 1976, the band – David Vanian (vocals), Captain Sensible (bass), Brian James (guitar) and Rat Scabies (drums) – produced an alchemic, heady new British rock sound; a menacing mix of tough New York punk rock (chief songwriter Brian James was an early-adopter with a passion for The Ramones that quickly fed through to his bandmates) and Detroit sleaze – the album ends with a cover of The Stooges’ “1970,” here renamed “I Feel Alright”. These predominantly American influences were mixed with a subtle flourish of late-60s British psychedelia and a dash of gothic Hammer Horror for good measure (perhaps inspired by frontman David Vanian’s pre-punk career as a grave-digger?), already pointing to acclaimed future directions for the band. The album was neatly spearheaded by a brace of classic punk singles in the aforementioned “New Rose” and the blistering follow-up “Neat Neat Neat”. As the album’s sleeve famously (and correctly) states, this is music; “Made to be played loud at low volume”!

Now, almost exactly four decades to the day later and with the band still selling-out venues right across the world, The Damned’s hugely influential classic debut is celebrated here in BMG’s new ‘Art of The Album’ series, featuring fully remastered audio and new sleevenotes within both the CD & LP formats recalling the story of the band’s conception and the album’s creation. Comprehensively researched and written by legendary punk writer John Ingham, these new sleevenotes cover in-depth the story of the album & the period in which it was written & recorded, the key players in its creation, the craft and instrumentation, the impact upon release and its legacy 40 years later. Via exclusive interviews with original band members Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Brian James and Rat Scabies, John Ingham (best known for writing the first ever review of The Damned and the first ever interview with The Sex Pistols – both in UK music weekly ‘Sounds’ in 1976) is perfectly placed to recount the early hedonistic days of the band in this definitive release of one of the most influential albums of all time.

In the age of immediacy, accessibility, streaming and a la carte downloads, the concept of an album or long player has become somewhat lost. ‘The Art of The Album is a new series looking to refocus the attention on the album as a format. With a collection of seminal and classic LPs, the Art of The Album series will celebrate albums that broke new ground in concept, production, song writing and genre, leaving a lasting legacy as a complete album work of art.

Talking today of the album’s recording, Captain Sensible reflects, “’Damned Damned Damned’ was almost ‘un-produced’ by our Stiff stablemate Nick Lowe, who managed to capture the energy of our live set spectacularly. Nick was known as ‘Basher’ as there was no messing about. It’s fairly manic, but also tuneful and, listened to now, still sounds pretty fresh to my ears…. The guitars don’t sound nice – they’re a raw, fuzzed-out thrash – that’s punk rock. Pathway was a rough and ready studio round the back of an Islington garage. It was so dark and dingy in there – you had to be careful or you’d knock your beer over. The sessions took two days, after which the tape was recycled for an Elvis Costello album so there’s no chance of a remix… Not that you’d want one – it’s perfect!”

The Damned (David Vanian, Captain Sensible, Monty Oxymoron, Andrew ‘Pinch’ Pinching, and Stu West) embark on an extensive world tour this spring, including a two month North American run, returning to play a series of UK festivals in the summer. They also headed into the studio this winter to start work on a brand new album, their first since 2008’s ‘So, Who’s Paranoid?’ A pre-order link for the CD, colored vinyl, as well as exclusive merch (and experiences) is available at PledgeMusic. Stay tuned for more info.

“…a rage of rude bamalama and embedded pop-song smarts that, with time and sense, now sounds as consistent and fundamental as the Clash and Sex Pistols hymnals.” Rolling Stone

“The Damned are a band of infinite depth and a wide variety of pleasures. Their catalog includes high-quality blurs of melodic punk, Beach Boys-ish flowery psych-pop, chiming, bittersweet post-punk, Moody Blues-ish bombastmopherics, spiraling goth and soaring faux soul, all brilliantly executed…With their predilection for both massive power and chaos and highly developed and subtle songwriting, they continue to be an effective and dramatic touring act, to this day.” New York Observer

“The show was anything but a by the numbers nostalgia fest. Saturday night in New York The Damned delivered a performance that would leave many bands half their age in jealous awe.” Concert Addicts

“The Damned are 40 this year and still punk as fuck. Or goth as fuck. Or something in between that was never quiet the Ramones or Bauhaus, but Dave Vanian dressed like a vampire and Captain Sensible wore gonzo plaid. Something for every counterculture.” Diabolique Magazine

“For a band in their 40th year, The Damned surprisingly still have more energy than many groups half their age. Founding members singer Dave Vanian and guitarist Captain Sensible are all over the stage, moving almost constantly as they work their way through one song after another.” Chunky Glasses

“…across two sets, the band — which still features vampiric vocalist Dave Vanian and guitarist Captain Sensible — worked their way backwards, more or less, through their entire catalogue, delivering most of their best-loved songs along the way. Vanian’s voice is still in top form, and Captain Sensible provided the riffs and comic relief. Fantastic show.” Brooklyn Vegan

LANY

Los Angeles-based trio LANY was formed by three friends: Paul Jason Klein, Leslie Priest and

Jake Goss. Crafting dreamy pop with an R&B spirit, the members of LANY studied music in

college and are multi-instrumentalists. The band's name (pronounced "Lay-nee") is a nod to Los

Angeles and New York, marking their desire to spread their music from coast to coast. That

music combines the feel of '80s radio pop, '90s R&B soul, and atmospheric synths. They

continued to build a following while on the road, touring with Troye Sivan, Ellie Goulding,

Halsey, and X Ambassadors. The group eventually signed with Polydor Records. They released

a third EP, the six-track Make Out, which culled tracks from their previous releases, including the

song "ILYSB" ("I Love You So Bad"). The song was a hit online, reaching over 14 million

streams. While LANY embarked on a world tour in 2016, they released "Where the Hell Are My

Friends." Their self-titled debut album followed in 2017.

MMA at Revolution Live

The very first Combat Night was held on January 21, 2012, in Tallahassee Florida. The event was held at The Moon, where both Mitchell Chamale and Josh Samman had fought professionally in the exact same venue years ago. Mitchell and Josh’s careers continued to progress since the days of fighting in Tallahassee, eventually to a point of being able to give back the same opportunities to a younger generation of athletes.
Since that day on January 21st, Combat night has hosted over 70 events, home to over 700 fights, and hundreds of athletes from all walks of life. From doctors and nurses, to lawyers and soldiers, real estate agents, college students, friends of ours, town bartenders, or sometimes troubled youths in need of something to focus their energy on. We have seen it all and one thing remains a constant; it is a positive experience in these folks’ lives.
All of us at Combat Night believe in giving back. Every event has a charity that we spotlight and our guests are able to donate to that charity during the event!

If you have any further questions about the event or would like to learn more about Combat Night, check out our Facebook page, www.Facebook.com/CombatNight. https://events.ticketprinting.com/event/22813
